Designing Therapeutic Spaces for Clinic, Home & School

This one day course is designed to help therapists, teachers and parents understand how environmental considerations can change the way children learn, remember and behave. The constructs of SI theory and practice as they relate to designing therapeutic environments and activities are woven together throughout the course with lecture, oodles of slides and group activities.
There will be lots of discussion and problem solving with clinical reasoning based on SI theory and other OT approaches.
The information is interesting, fun and immediately applicable.

At the end of this course participants will be able to:
1. Describe at least 3 of the presented approaches that can be used in designing environments.
2. Discuss how these approaches interact and/or support each other.
3. Demonstrate ability to design environments for home, school & clinic.
4. Identify activities that can be personalized in a variety of environments.
