Description
This two day course is designed to discuss those forms of intervention we have found most effective in the shortest amount of time. The what and why's are presented as well as how each fits and compliments the other in the course of treatment. We will cover the basics about the strategies you keep hearing about or may be already using. We will explore Metabolic Considerations, Sensory Integration, Intensity programs, Sensory Diet Planning, Arousal & Modulation, Use of commercial and Therapeutic Sound Programs, Oral & Respiratory considerations, Cranial Sacral therapy considerations, & How to Plan Treatment Sequences.
Objectives
At the end of this course participants will be able to:
1. Describe at least 3 of the presented approaches that can be integrated into treatment.
2. Discuss how these approaches interact and/or support each other in comprehensive treatment of persons with sensory processing, modulation, motor, learning or autism spectrum disorders.
3. Demonstrate powerful treatment strategies for 3 or more of the approaches discussed.
4. Identify personal learning options that will enhance professional skills toward more efficient/effective treatment.
